This blog will present perspectives on parenting and guiding persons with autism to achieve remediation and realize a more satisfying, productive quality of life. The author is the parent of a child on the autism spectrum and an RDI(R) Program Certified Consultant actively working with families of children on the autism spectrum.
Areas to note in the video above: Collaboration, cooperation, communicating to assess partner's readiness, ongoing referencing to evaluate partner's continued readiness, experience/emotion sharing, theory of mind (realization that he would be "tricking" the audience - providing them with something they don't expect). Please also be aware that pre-RDI (almost age 5), Matt received an ADOS score in the "severe" range. -Laura
ReplyDeleteThis is great Laura, I loved how Matt kept checking Jules for readiness before he moved on!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect illustration of referencing (among other things). I was explaining this to my email the list last night and I am going to share this video with them!
